AIM:

To provide early identification of ear disease and hearing deficits.
To ensure clients are appropriately referred for ongoing management of their hearing results.
To work closely with General Practitioners, Specialists and other Health Professionals.

CHILDREN 3 - 18 years: Available to all children who reside in the Fairfield Local Government Area or who attend School in the Fairfield Local Government Area but reside outside the Fairfield Local Government Area.

ADULTS 19 years and onwards: All adults who live in the Fairfield Local Government Area

Speech problems or speech delay
Learning difficulties
Failed school screening
Behavioural problems
Parental concern
Recurrent ear infections
Hearing concerns or difficulties
Ototoxic medication
Tinnitus
Reply inappropriate to what is said
Family history of hearing loss
Diabetes
Frequent colds and upper respiratory infections
Diseases that have the potential to cause hearing loss

RESULTS OF HEARING LOSS IN ADULTS
Anxiety
Depression
Reply inappropriately to what is said
Asking people to repeat what is said
Withdrawal from social activities
Trouble hearing with back ground noise

REFERRALS ACCEPTED FROM

CLIENTS NOT ACCEPTED FOR THE HEARING CLINIC

People who live outside the Fairfield Local Government.  Refer to services in their Local Government Area.
Hearing tests for legal work, court cases and Insurance claims.  Refer these people to an Ear Nose and Throat Specialist for a Medical Report.
Companies requiring pre employment hearing tests.  Refer these people to the companies that are set up to do pre employment medicals and pre employment hearing tests.
